sorry this should have been 1st post.Double-click the BIOS update file.

When the BIOS update window appears, click OK.

When the extractor window appears, click Unzip.

Close all open windows. The next steps will be to create a boot disk and install the BIOS upgrade.

To determine your current BIOS revision

Turn off the PC.

Turn on the PC and when the blue screen with the logo appears, press the F1 key.

The message Entering SETUP appears.

When the BIOS Setup screen appears, the current revision is shown on the last line of the Main screen. Example: BIOS Revision 2.00 07/5/00. Write down this revision information and exit the BIOS program

This BIOS does not install cleanly and may require a full windows rebuild after installation.

Use v1.5 if possible. - This is the AWARD® BIOS ver 1.6 release.

- This BIOS fixed the following problems of the previous version:

- Fixed the problem wherein the system will show "suggested CAS Latency to 3" even when correct settings are made.

- Fixed the problem wherein you couldn't install WINDOWS 2000/ACPI without pressing key "F5"

- Fixed some SDRAM compatibility issue.

- Fixed USB mouse couldn't work properly after system resumes from S3 under Windows® 2000.

- Add "IPCA Function" for installing APM OS.

- Support S.M.A.R.T HDD.

- Updated the VGA BIOS to v3.0

- Fixed the problem wherein no Power management menu bar found under WINDOWS® 2000.

- Fixed M****soft® ACT 5.0 test failed under the unreported memory.

- Fixed FDISK failed if Boot sequence is set to (1)Floppy (2)SCSI and when you connect 1 SCSI HDD and 1 IDE HDD.

- Fixed the problem wherein the system cannot wake up under Windows®98 APM mode when USB mouse is used.

- Updated VGA BIOS to 2.14

- Support SigmaTel STAC9721 codec.

- Support both ICW195B and Winbond W83194AR-We clock generators.
