They, and the Knightsbridge store, have a constant problem of people stealing carrier bags without buying anything. Apparently it's to impress the neighbours/acquaintances by shopping at somewhere like Tesco and then transferring the purchases to the Harrods bags before they get home. Which reminds me of people that steal empty champagne bottles from the bins at posh hotels to put in their own dustbin to impress the refuse collectors. I live in deepest Surrey and I can tell you that Margot Ledbetter is alive and well and her ilk have multiplied n fold.
