That's what needs doing to these young joy riders cars, those who endanger people in city centres.

Trouble is andsome, these joyriders are nearly always in a car they have just stolen so it wouldn't be their car that was going to the crusher, worse luck.

There is also a lot of joy riding going on in meetings in city centres and car parks with kids in their own cars. There is also a large regular meeting at a place called Bassetts Pole of motor cyclists, hundreds at a time, they chase madly up and down the local roads doing tricks etc. Believe me it can be a nightmare if you are in the area. Only the other week an innocent bye stander was killed.

That's not far from here... the one who killed that woman just got 7 years in jail.

You have probably experienced half a dozen idiots at a time hurtling past at twice the speed limit, or even worse, coming from the opposite direction overtaking someone else. NOT VERY FUNNY.

Just read your post andsome.

Yes I know that place very well from the day's when I had my Transport Company running. I had no idea that sort of thing went on in that area.

In Washington when we lived there, up till 1991, there was 1000 car thefts per month and the majority of them were just joy riders. The trouble was when they were through for the night instead of leaving the car they used to burn them out to get rid of prints and any trace that could lead the Police to them. You could guarantee the Police helicopter from Northumberland was out over Washington every night for hours on end but the actual number that were caught was minimal.

I'm sorry to read that an innocent bystander was killed. It's up to the Police to put and end to this sort of thing, although I realise it's more difficult done than said. One of the problems is they will just relocate to another venue.

Just had to double check that road on autoroute Gandalph as I can see the A47 from my front window and I live in Norwich. It must lead up to near where you live then?  :)

When I was a rep, that new A47 link was the best thing since sliced bread. It saved me hours. (Off topic).
