andsome
GitsYou did not say who the gits are. Are they the people who are stealing other peoples work and are not willing to pay for it, or are the gits the people who are trying to stop this theft? Can you please clarify. Rebel=UK=
You will be ok (for now) aslong as you dont share over 500 files. The BPI want to stop people ripping 100's of CD's to share , then i guess the casual downloader.
Rebel=UK=
Another point here what if you go through proxies, i would like to see them prove it was you. I will keep using p2p until the prices of CD's come down, if the film companies can do it in China with DVD's why cant the UK. Think about it £3 for a single £15 for a album or free from the internet.....
andsome
I fully agree that the price of C.D's is a rip off in the UK. However, having said that, this is NOT an excuse to rob the innocent performers. You are not yet old enough to have a job, but let's just assume that you are. Say you started work last week, and your boss told you an Friday that he would NOT be paying you for this week, because he had decided to give everything that you had produced this week to the customers free of charge, and would do this once every so many weeks. I bet you would think that this was great, and would say "thanks very much boss". Or would you????
scuzzman
When I hear music I like on the radio, I usually download a few more songs from the artist to see if I like the rest of the album. If I don't, I delete it and I won't buy the CD. I'm not paying for something I don't like or using up HDD space for it.By the same token, if I like it, I'll fork over the $20 for the CD. Boris
Personally, I think there is nothing wrong with a try before you buy approach - Amazon put some samples on their site. However I've not tried P2P and would never do so - far too dangerous to my thinking ! nellie2
I think both andsome and Besty have a point here... I don't condone illegal file sharing but the price of CD's is a bit OTT... if they were more affordable then perhaps people wouldn't be willing to take the risks.I like the try before you buy approach too!
