In keeping with the Catholic tradition of no meat on Fridays during Lent we just finished a meal of:

Shrimp sauteed in olive oil, butter, salt and garlic, then chilled and served with lemon and cocktail sauce.

Baked potatoes served with butter and sour cream.

A full 1 1/2 pounds of Lobster tails (1 1/2 tails each) served with butter and lemon.

Several glasses of chilled blush wine (while doing the cooking and while eating).

our son was gone and we listened to classical music cuts on the stereo.

The tails cost $30, the shrimp maybe $4, the potatoes $2 and the wine $10. Not bad for a nice candle light dinner for two. :P

I had a piece of toast for my tea. :( I didn't finish work until 6pm then I came home and had a quick cup of coffee and a peice of toast then had to go out and do my shopping. I got back at about 8.30pm and put is all away and tidied up and then it was too late for eating. So I had a large glass of something instead :)

Back to the regular grind.  Hamburgers tonight.

OK if they are home made, or from a small local reliable source. Otherwise I wouldn't touch them with someone else's mouth. We had a TV programme shown in the UK some years ago, showing what goes into commercial burgers, it was enough to put me off for life.
