Tankus Posted May 27, 2005 Report Share Posted May 27, 2005 I was on a jury once where a stepfather had been having oral sex with his 12 year old stepdaughter .......quite simply was of the most unclean experiences that Ive been through ..... 10/2 majority unproven .......2 weeks later after the trial the family came to me in work to replace some units in their kitchen , where we then both went through the routine as if we didn't know each other ......nasty ...................................................................................................I think that he had done it ....but there was doubt ...................................................................................................Did you pack the bag yourself ....yes /no ....... has anybody else have had access to your luggage ... yes / no those countries don't mess around ...they execute ...I smell the stuff often in work as the rastas and a few others openly smoke it out on the "streets"....... Its taken more "lightly" than the hard stuff ...Customs do open bags without you being there .....Few years back my rucksack had been emptied and replaced (to Spain) , , probably due to there being a few big fat cigars ( one half smoked) next to a box of matches in a sealed bag in an inner pocket ...Guess there is always the possibility that there was a plant , but then how would itbe recovered ...?........Worth getting seal tags to see if you bag has been tampered with ... I'll bet they will see a drop in drug running ..for a while ......4kgs .....not a small amount ...?Puts "little Johnny" (asDDcalls him) in a hard place , Intervention will show a perceived contempt for the governments legal system .....I don't think any of us is in a position to pass serious comment. Hurdy Posted May 27, 2005 Report Share Posted May 27, 2005 I was on jury service at the tender age of eighteen....During a GBH/Kidnap case we broke for lunch and we (the jury) all went to the pub over the road.As I was getting served at the bar I was nudged and when I turned around I was being eyeballed by the accused..... You are deciding the fate of a fellow human being.... Without even so much as a handshake and a few minutes of friendly banter you decide weather they rot in jail or are to be free as a functioning member of society... and what if your wrong?............ Hurdy Posted May 27, 2005 Report Share Posted May 27, 2005 Actually it was quite easy.It was explained that the burden of proof is placed fairly and squarely on the boys in blue.We were to rely entirely on the evidence presented and in all three cases that I was involved in the accused went free.Any shadow of doubt and you couldn't convict - mind you the case for the prosecution in each case was laughable. andsome Posted May 30, 2005 Report Share Posted May 30, 2005 As I said earlier. We do not know the truth of the allegations and probably never will. There is NO point in being outraged. Maybe the crime was committed , maybe it wasn't. We have no way of knowing. The quantity does seem to me however to be rather a lot to have gone unnoticed.
