catgate Posted July 11, 2005 Report Share Posted July 11, 2005 One day early last week a pundit on TV was saying that the trouble with this country at present is that people are lazy and feckless. I thought for a moment and then realised that, although he may well be right about laziness, I was not sure about the fecklessness. So decided to do a small survey. I went into our nearest market town and just wandered about observing people. I had eventually to concede that nowhere did I see anyone with a feck. I did not see any trace of feckishness in the behaviour or "look" of anyone. I then wondered if there were any fecks left locked in parked cars, so I sauntered up and down a couple of car parks, and came up with the same sort of result.Now according to the theory of Discrimantory Analysis, if there was to be any significance in the pundits assertion, then I should have observed at least three and a half people with "elemental feckishness behavioural traits". I observed none. I should have observed 0.63% of a feck....none. As a last resort I ran a check on Snecdors F....same result.It is obviously nonsense.....or is it?
