deuces wild Posted August 1, 2005 Report Share Posted August 1, 2005 That is...bitten by the boatownership thing again. :blush: We sold our last boat over 2 years ago and miss the days on the Lake (Lake Erie, one of the 5 Great Lake in the US and Canada), including lazy summer days swimming off the boat, tubing and water skiing. We have owned and operated boats for the past 25 years and our kids were raised on the water and boating.So.........I spent the day looking for a smaller boat (used) in the 19 to 21 foot range, one that I can again manage by myself. I looked at about 30 or so...... I found 3 that would interest me including one that needed to refurbished inside and out.....I will order a structural and mechanicsl engine survey on this one if we go that route.I was hoping to find something that would pass survey this week so we could take it on vacation wth us next week................it does not look like that will happen. We may have to find a boat to rent for the week (I am looking at one tomorrow night).Have you ever been bitten by the boat ownership bug? With two people in the back there needed to be one sitting on the front to keep the nose down. andsome Posted August 2, 2005 Report Share Posted August 2, 2005 Along with my friends I used to take a rowing boat out on the local park pool, when I was a lad. Other than that I restrict myself to an occasional ride on a ferry. We went on a couple in Scotland a couple of weeks ago. Does this qualify me as a boat enthusiast? Our last boat was a 32 footer that we had to sell because my wife was no longer able to help me bring it into the dock due to a deteriorating neurological condition in her leg. We miss the boat as we would spend every weekend on it (it slept 6 in the cabin) and would travel the Great Lakes on it for 2 weeks during the summer.Here is a picture of it. A full week of using it will certainly let us know whether it is the boat for us. ;-)The boat appears to be German made and very popular in Europe.Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of the Renker boat company, model 20 Spitfire?
