deuces wild
.....I cannot get rid of the folder titled "Bookmarks Tool Folder" in my bookmarks section of Firefox. It is always at the top of the list when I click on "bookmarks". I cannot get rid of it even when trying to *manage* my bookmarks. Any suggestions?
-pops-
I think it's part of Firefox - not to be removed.I've not noticed it before, why do you want to remove it?
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Or could it be a Firefox extension? Click Tools -> Extensions to see what you have installed.
CurlyWhirly
I have just checked and I don't have any Extensions and I also have this entry but in my case it is called 'Bookmarks Toolbar Folder' and not 'Bookmarks Tool Folder'.I may be wrong but I have come to the conclusion that it is an integral part of Firefox as when opened it displays a list of news articles under the 'Latest headlines' heading!p.s. also when I right click on the entry, the 'delete' option is blanked out probably meaning that it isn't supposed to be deleted?I am quite happy keeping it on my PC anyway as it is handy if you want to catch up on the news headlines
scuzzman
This is the equivalent of the IE "Links" Toolbar - the folder is incorporated into firefox and, AFAIK, cannot be removed.

Any suggestions? :huh:The links that are stored in Bookmarks Toolbar Folder, are displayed in the Bookmarks Toolbar. Perhaps your Bookmarks Toolbar in not displayed. View>Toolbars>Bookmarks Toolbar. It adds a row under the Navigation toolbar. I've renamed mine (right click>Properties). He, he, you could call yours "deuce's wildbar". :P :P :P
deuces wild
Thanks folks but perhaps I did not explain things right. No, I do not want to get rid of the 'bookmarks' listing on my toolbar. What I want to remove (or move) is the 'bookmarks toolbar folder' that always takes position number one of my bookmarks. Just a minor annoyance and I would prefer it went away.
Guest be@vis
The "delete" option is "greyed out", when I try, which suggests that it can't be done. Looks like you'll have to learn to love it.
