ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
I finally took that New Year's walk today - New Year's day was too busy, and yesterday it has been raining. I took a few pictures on the way and posted them in the Gallery. It starts near the top of page 2.While it was overcast during the walk, when I came back home the sky was suddenly clear. Nice temperature too: 7°C.

Thos
A question: Does the Kimono have Chinese origins? If so, how was it introduced to Japan?deuceswild. What leads you to ask that? I googled and could find nothing to suggest a Chinese origin.Thos.
deuces wild
I remember reading about it some time ago. Perhaps my memory fails me though.

ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Thanks for all the nice comments, here and in the Gallery. On the kimono question - a great deal of Japanese culture originally came from China and Korea, but it got changed over time, and ended as something completely unique. My guess is that the kimono also orginated from China, but there is very little similarity now. The Korean girls' kimonos are somewhat similar to the Japanese kimono.
