New Year's Eve and New Year's Day Plans

The holidays are winding down, with perhaps the wildest yet to come (New Year's Eve).

What are your plans?

Unfortunately our daughter will be leaving tomorrow after spending about 3 week with us. She has to work NY's Eve and NY's Day, then start classes again for the new quarter at Ohio State University. We loved to have her back home but she is itching to get back to her *home*,

We have again invited 7 of our closest friends over for the evening for horsderves (I just call it dinner), drinks, music and dancing....mainly Mowtown with some disco ( ). We always have a blast and believe it or not, disco is really fun music during a party.

New Year's Day will find us at Mass (if the hangovers are not too bad) then watching US Football games (mainly college bowls) and finally a dinner of beef rib roast and the fixings.

I have off on January 2nd because the holiday falls on a Sunday (I have been off since December 22nd  ).

So how about you? Are you getting a bit wild and doing some partying on NY's Eve?

Our holidays have just begun, and I will be off until Jan 5. My original plan was to visit Nagasaki with friends, but all flights were booked out!

Most of my friends will be leaving town over the New Years days, so I will stay home alone, and maybe have some long walks in the empty city. Tokyo is truly amazing over the New Year - everything is closed, no one is around, and you can walk on the middle of Roppongi Dori without seeing any cars.

I may take my camera with me and shoot a few pics of empty Tokyo.

Tomorrow evening is the annual New Year's party at Mr. and Mrs. Shinkawa's house. There will be about 100 guests, each trying to bring a sensational wine. I will probably bring a Tignanello. And of course I'll be wearing my winter kimono

We are looking after our three youngest granddaughters tonight whilst their parent go partying. We'll probably get in take-away pizza etc. 'cos that is a treat for them and let them stay up to see the New Year in, if they want to.

Tomorrow afternoon we will take them and re-unite them with their parents at a New Years Day party at my other son's house.

So it is a family celebration for us.

Thos.

I will be going to the Cornish town of Torpoint with friends. I'll also be meeting up with my son, daughters and ex-wife when I get there. The whole town will be in fancy dress and it's a good laugh. I don't know what I'll be wearing - some of my female friends have already set something up for me

My other half is currently in the kitchen cooking me a lovely meal. When that is ready I expect I shall be offline for the evening.

We don't have any plans to go out and I'm not sure that I will be drinking, I still can't face it after my day after boxing day hangover!!! :paperbag1:

Tomorrow we shall go for a nice long walk somewhere.... probably New Brighton!

A happy, healthy and prosperous New Year to all form members and guests. I've just done the washing up after havering had dinner with 'er in bed so will be watching a bit of telly tonight and popping on and off the forum. My son and daughter in law and granddaughter are coming down tomorrow for nibbles and drinks so I will be pouring myself one in a couple of minutes just to get my arm back into practice.

It wasn't too bad, they dressed me up as a wizard. It could have been worse as they dressed one guy up as a nurse and another as Marilyn Monroe.

The problem was that 'Marilyn Monroe' forgot he still had make up on and went to the paper shop this morning. He wondered why he was getting funny looks!

Having a relaxing day today, to recover from the Christmas exess :P

Tomorrow we shall go for a nice long walk somewhere.... probably New Brighton!

That wouldn't be the New Brighton near Liverpool would it ??

Where else? My mum & dad used to take me there when I was a kid so I have fond recollections of the place, the nearest "sea-side" resort to us.

Hope you had a good day, nel.

And also everyone else. I certainly did.

We had a lovely New years Eve with our friends. I was however in trouble with 'Er indoors, for a gross over spend on food. We had everyone round again yesterday for a cold lunch. Some food left can be frozen while other stuff will end up in the bin.

We had a small family gathering (I did the cooking) yesterday and then played a few of those daft games where you get a lot of laughs from the answers even though the game is naff

Can't beat a good laugh.

It is often the drink laughing.

Thos :D
