Hi guys a little advice please.

A nasty tried to get on my PC, I have got rid of most of it but kept getting a missing DLL window.

I msconfigged and in selective startup, unticked the box for it.

I then got a window saying about this PC is starting in selective startup, is it OK to leave as is or is there a way to take it out of the startup and return to ordinary startup.

TIA john

Surprisingly their uninstaller does actually work, as does the add remove programs method when the uninstall file is in the folder.

Problems arise with incorrect removal of New.net

Earlier versions of Adaware (v5) were prone to ripping it out and breaking your internet connection. :(

Thanks nel, I think I have got rid of it though :) Also I think I will give startup inspector a go.

I find startup inspecter quite useful as if you use it when you are on line it will give you a an analysis of the startup programs. Helps you decide if you need it or not

I have no problems downloading from http://www.windowsstartup.com/download.php (click on the Download link).

If you still have problems, google for Download Inspector, and you will find dozens of alternate download sites, e.g. from download.com ((but the windowsstartup.com download is newer).
