Using Windows XP Professional With Service Pack 2

In Windows Explorer

When a folder is open and the list of that folder appears in the right hand side box is there anyway to

do a "find" in the items shown?

To make it a little clearer.

The contents of a folder has 100 items. Can a "find" be done to locate all the items with the word "Santa" in them?

Thanks

Thank you for asking the question, oldtrout.

Nearly every time I come on line I learn something new. I have found it works just as well for W98SE. With another seven years experience of it I should begin to get the hang of W98SE.

You should indeed.

You can also search for a word or a phrase

You could 'right-click' the folder and choose 'search', type in the word Santa and it will display all the files referring to that.

To pops & Puskin:

Duh! :ranting:

Of Course:

Thanks :D

Don't worry. Stick around - you'll enjoy it here.

I didn't say welcome on your first post so, here it is - welcome to WF :)

I always understood the "ff" was a polite substitution for "rt". :)

On the subject of the original query, I had long thought that there should have been a quicker way to "find" than Start\find\files and folders....and lo and behold....
