We have had rather a lot of snow fall in the last 24 hours here in Freiburg, south west Germany

We went out 3 times yesterday and i had to rid the car of snow each time, when we got back at 17:00 the car had no snow on it.

And now this morning there was 30 Cm / 1 foot of snow on it.

And just to annoy the English guys on the forum, all public transport is running fine and on time ;)

You are lucky to have public transport available, running on time or otherwise. Round here, we still have to pay the gross petrol prices inflicted upon us by the government, in their attempts to force us onto public transport, and yet this public transport is almost non existent. I have a bowls match later on today, it will take me less than twenty minutes to get there by car, but by public transport, at least three different buses, followed by a long walk. Rant over.

We had little more than an inch of snow... everything ground to a halt as per usual... oh and the landing stage for the Mersey Ferries at Pier Head sank too!!!

I went down to Birkenhead today and had a look across the river and it's all gone apart from a little bit of roof sticking up out of the water!!

Umm driving today has not been much of a problem, the sun has been out most of the day. The roads were mostly very slushy, the sides roads wre a bit worse. but tomorrow morning will be a bit different, as it has now dropped to below - °C and all the slushy stuff will be just rock hard ice.

I start a new job tomorrow, so i just hope that i can get there in time.

This was the most snow we have had here in the city in one fall for 20 years.

At the top of the mountain "feltburg" which is only 1/2 hour drive away just over 4 metres of snow fell :0

What's 'public transport'.

Sure I've seen it mentioned somewhere in the UK. :D :D :D

That's what we keep asking round here, when B'liar wants us to use it instead of our cars. Yet another lovely sunny morning round here, but damned cold with it.
