andsome Posted March 28, 2006 Report Share Posted March 28, 2006 What's the hurry? My computer using XP does all that I want it to, and compared with my previous one runs like lightning. What difference will a few nano seconds make? I can well understand the urge to improve on W98, but XP suites most people fine. Belatucadrus Posted March 28, 2006 Report Share Posted March 28, 2006 I think the impatient ones are generally those who have invested in a 64 bit system and want a decent 64 bit OS. From what I've read XP 64 is a bit of a stop gap.Me I could care less as my old 32 bit Medion does everything I want it to and unless playing Doom 3 or Halo is your bag, I can't see the point of the endless charge to blow cash on the next big new thing. -pops- Posted March 28, 2006 Report Share Posted March 28, 2006 Most likely want to avoid a catastrophe like they made with Windows ME - launching too soon trying to be in time for the millennium and failing miseably to launch on the correct date. To cap the whole thing Windows ME was patched up version of 98 with a few bits of the yet to come XP - the combination being a c0ck-up and probably the worst version of the operating system ever.
