Robbers Dog
What makes you think that they are my beloved Tories? Could it be the numerous posts of yours prior to the last General Election, extolling the virtues of the Tories. Also the posts after the election wondering why anyone was daft enough to vote for Labour instead of Tory.
catgate
All this business about parties is a lot of old tosh. The big con that our present little cherub pulled on his traditional supporters, by getting in and then moving the goal posts was just typical of all party politics (and religion). Our little cherub is probably somewhere to the right of Maggie. He has kept on bleating about changing the image of the party and is constantly seeing the need for change in all things. The rag tag bunch who have gone from bad to worse since Maggie dropped them in it, are currently bleating about changing the image of the party, and their current 'white hope' seems to be trying to move them slightly to the left of Neil Kinnock. Charlie's lot have never really had a policy other than assuring everyone that they were not like the rest, and were therefore to be relied upon. The remainder are just ignored, like the Wicca or druids, unless one/some of them can be used as a whipping boy. They will all say that there policies are X, Y and Z to get elected, and after they are elected those poilicies will be substituted by P, Q and R, until the next election comes arround when some more arrant nonsense will be dreamed up. X. Y and Z will be things that are of importance to the voter and his well being, whereas P, Q and R will be of importance to the pecunary advantage of the backers. This change of policy game is commonplace in "isms" and "ities". The church, in its many guises, is continually rewritting "the word of God" by allowing homosexuality, divorce, abortion, women priests, suicide bombing etc. All a bit like the old practice of selling "indulgences" (or possibly peerages!). All things that for centuries were forbidden by "the word of God", but which if repealled might just bring in more bums on pews, and more shekels into the coffers. Worst of all is the assumption, by most people, that if you are against A you must be for B. We have been led into a state of "black or white", "right or left" dichotomy intentionally by those who would gain from this outlook i.e. the establishment.edit:- One of the silly outcomes of all this has been that everyone seems to be voting not for who they would prefer to be elected, but in such a way as to keep out the ones they do not want. Could it be the numerous posts of yours prior to the last General Election, extolling the virtues of the Tories. Also the posts after the election wondering why anyone was daft enough to vote for Labour instead of Tory.We needed a change from B'liar and the mess he was leading us into. The Tories could provide that change. The Lib Dem's are out of the running if you don't want to end up completely under the Brussels thumb.
