CurlyWhirly Posted May 1, 2006 Report Share Posted May 1, 2006 I know that XP needs frequent patching but I find it a very stable operating system and is a lot better than Windows ME which I ditched after it kept freezing and I had to keep rebooting the PC.I will be getting Vista but not straightaway as I am going to wait for the dust to settle first. It was rushed out as a stop gap bewtween 98 and XP, Microsoft are effectivly ending support for 98 on July 11, 2006, Ide rather they end it for Win ME and continue support 98!! As for Vista I be leaving it for a fair while, see how it beds in first before I even consider it, for most users it would mean a ram and graphics update for it to run comfortably, I wouldnt dream of running it on min specs it would be like pushing an elephant upstairs, although im not sure on what the minimum specs are myself offhand im sure many users will fall short of it.
