PC won't start

Recommended Posts

Hi all :)

My machine was left on standby, green light flashing. I pushed the power button to get it active and nothing happened. Pushed again to switch it off. Now the machine does nothing at all when I push the power button, dead as a dodo. Have checked the power cable, and the attached wireless router is still working. Any suggestions would gratefully received.

Can you take the side of your case to see if there are any LED's alight on your motherboard?.

I see from your profile that you have an AMD754 motherboard, which is not that old.

Is your computer still under warranty, if it is do not take the side off, call in the people who you have the warranty with.

Well first of all i've gotta know, Why are you using 'standby' anyway????? It's really kind of useless.., and it can cause those kind of problems... ;)

It usually requires replacing the front end of the case, which also usually means an entire new case.

They can run about $30 - $200 CDN.

Why oh Why would you have to replace the Whole front of the case or purchase a whole new case just to replace a simple little switch???? Or "momentary on Pushbutton" to be more exact..? ;)?
