I'm getting a satellite dish

Recommended Posts

Think this discussion is nearly closest to my query! Grumpy men and women aside! I have just slapped a satellite dish on the side of my home and attached a sky box to my computer.

My problem is that using the scart socket on the sky box with a s-video connection into back of computer does not give any form of picture other than black and white with no sound.

If I use the coaxil as expected it is poor grade.

Can anyone advise what my next step should be???

Assistance in this matter would be much appreciated.

Many Sky boxes (and some SCART connectors) don't have the S-video facility wired up. S-video seems little used now except in expensive equipment.

Hopefully your computer should have an analogue video/sound input (yellow, red and white RCA sockets). You should be able to get a cable with SCART one end and RCA the other.

There is a good chance that the S-video is not connected in the Sky box. You should be able to check this in the specifications/technical information for the box.

If, by chance it is wired then ensure your SCART connector has the S-video pins wired up.
