Bluejay
Think this discussion is nearly closest to my query! Grumpy men and women aside! I have just slapped a satellite dish on the side of my home and attached a sky box to my computer. My problem is that using the scart socket on the sky box with a s-video connection into back of computer does not give any form of picture other than black and white with no sound. If I use the coaxil as expected it is poor grade. Can anyone advise what my next step should be??? Assistance in this matter would be much appreciated.
-pops-
Many Sky boxes (and some SCART connectors) don't have the S-video facility wired up. S-video seems little used now except in expensive equipment.Hopefully your computer should have an analogue video/sound input (yellow, red and white RCA sockets). You should be able to get a cable with SCART one end and RCA the other.
Bluejay
So my theory of using scart to s-video will not work? Which is what I am trying at the moment unsuccessfully?
-pops-
There is a good chance that the S-video is not connected in the Sky box. You should be able to check this in the specifications/technical information for the box.If, by chance it is wired then ensure your SCART connector has the S-video pins wired up.
