See if you can trace back to the "supply" end to see if it's dead, then cut it off. It was normal practice when the new phone lines were laid in to just leave the old rubbish behind. Saved a bit of work!

Umm a BT Engineer came round yesterday to check our line and he replaced the one in the pic with a square one that attached to the skirting board...

So it's still in use :o

He should of done it about 20 years ago :lol:
