A day at a time

We often hear this phrase. " I live life just one day at a time". "I live each day as it comes". etc etc.

Well I was talking to a chap yesterday who is working on a different strategy.

He claims he can live two days at a time. He lives Monday and Tuesday together, then has a rest for Wednesday (well it is half day closing after all) . Then he lives Thursday and Friday together followed by Saturday combined with Sunday (this is made easier because he is an agnostic... and left handed with it)

His next step will be to try to live Monday with Wednesday (if the halfday closing bit does not foul it up) followed by Tuesday with Friday (that might be tricky).

He claims it should be possible because in his experimental work he actually managed to live a week on Tuesday with last Thursday, and Good Friday on August Bank Holiday Monday.

He's a bright chap and may just succeed.

His mother used to keep a tripedressers stall on Halifax market. She used to go into the working men's club wearing a flat cap and slippers, and always ate chips with her mouth. His dad, Phyllis, was just the same.

I must apologise for missing this profound contribution when it was first posted yesterday. It being Sunday, I had a lie in until midday and so didn't have breakfast until 1pm, so my lunch was delayed until 6.30pm and so my morning meal this morning must have been dinner (or supper or even tea in Yorkshire).

I shall be a meal behind for the rest of my life.

Thos.

I had a friend who would not eat oxtail or rump steak, because he said he didn't like getting behind with his eating.
