doug Posted May 11, 2006 Author Report Share Posted May 11, 2006 Thanks for the welcome home folks. Must have had a good time. Checked mesen on the scales this morning and I've put on 7 lb an enormous half stone. There was me just down to a lithe 11 stone 12 lb and now I'm carrying 12 st 5 lb. Gonna be tough running with that excess! We were full of busy not doing much - I only managed to get in a short 2 mile trot on the last day, normally I tear round that loop, given my weight today no wonder it wasn't that comfortable. Well we arrived there Fri am - good flight and were met. Lazy pm. Sat did the Salisbury market and book stall in St. Thoms church, lazy pm. Sunday did car booter, afternoon did the Cathedral close. Forgot what we did on Monday. Tues went to Wilton house, the girls were desperate to have a sneb at Pricess Margaret's jewels which Christies were displaying as part of the tour before they are auctioned. I couldn't be bothered to look at a load of old stones and rocks so I went for a stroll through the grounds and along the river. Some nice wood sculpture type things - made from trees and a superb adventure playground for the children. Met up with the girls to help Anne get into the other end of the house - she was on the small electric buggy - and found them in raptures discussing them with one of the Christies girls. May have upset her when I said I wasn't that interested in them as they would be second hand once sold and they might have to resort to Flogit! Apparently the cataogue for the jewel sale was being sold for £48 and there were catalogues for the furniture and Faberge stuff. Didn't ask the price. There had been several TV teams there at the time "doing" the jewels. Wedneday the girls did the Playhouse "A touch of the Sun" by someone or other. Wednesday did a short run first thing, finished packing then we went to Heale gardens for the rest of the morning. Back to base, quick bite then off to Southampton Airport and back to Newcastle. Collected 23 month old No.1 G'son from the Nursery in Gateshead for our 24 hour stint. Got home dashed around with the watering can. Fed him and ourselves and off to bed with him and Herself. I had a quick look in here then bed myself. Today been scarifying the lawn took herself and G'son to the hospital G'son and I went for a go on the swings nearby. Back home to finish off the lawn. Katherine then arrived to collect Russell. We then fed ourselves, I finished off outside and now here I am again. Must have enjoyed ourselves as we always do down there.
