D4\/!d
There are a couple of programs I use that require Java.I have both version 7 and version 8 installed....dunno why.Java is disabled on my browsers.Do I need version 8?The programs seem to complain about version 8.Is version 8 aimed at win8 users. I use Win 7x64.I am thinking of un-installling Java 8v11x64.What do you think...
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
You only need one Java version. How do these programs "complain" about JRE 8? JRE 8 works perfectly on my Win 7. For x64 you may need to install both 32-bit and 64-bit builds.
D4\/!d
Hello Pat, The complaint is an error message that says: You are using the wrong Java version. Use an original Sun Java. Start the program anyway? Your Version: Runtime Version 1.8.0_11-b12It all works OK. It's just the tiresome error message at launch.
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
I would update to the latest JRE version 8u20, then ask the company that develops these programs about the message. "Sun Java" has been a long time ago, it is now "Oracle Java" since a number of years.
