WinHelpPlz3
Is there any way that I can convert or update from a 32bit system to a 64bit system? Thanks
-pops-
64 bit is a wholly different technology compared with 32 bit requiring different hardware and software. They are not interchangeable.
benb
IIRC XP 32-bit cannot upgrade to x64.
Belatucadrus
To convert from 32 bit to 64 bitBuy and fit new 64 bit CPU capable MOBOInstall new 64 bit CPUFormat hard driveInstall 64 bit operating systemNoting that XP64 is a compromise and to get full advantage of 64 bit technology you'll need Vista. Which currently opens up a whole new area of driver and software compatibility problems.64 bit will be great, but IMHO, it isn't yet fully realised technology and most people who go for it are doing it to get one up on the Joneses, rather than for any significant real time benefit.
