Thos
A few days ago there were several posts, including one from me, saying that members won't read the Daily Mail and generally giving it the raspberry. Now we are invited to read selected pieces from this renowned independent organ.Thos.

AlanHo
I realise I will possibly be treated like a pariah after this confession - but we have the Daily mail delivered every day. How else am I to enjoy their crosswords, Garfield and the excellent and incisive cartoon by Mac. Some of the most voluble critics of the newspaper on this forum regularly make statements and express sentiments that are straight out of the Daily Mail bible. I voted New Labout all those years ago because I thought that they had good policies plus a young, energetic and principled leader that would make our lives both safer and better. Like so many conservatives I now consider I made a sad mistake. The Daily mail, to many of you, may be regarded as a sensationalist rag - but they have some very sound columnists with whom I empathise. The article posted by catgate being one of them. catgate
I do not read any paper, but I do look at items on Google news. I used to read the toilet paper, all those years ago when Izal used to have "mottos" on each sheet. (That's where I gained the basics of my education,)

andsome
During the war we used sheets of newspaper hung on a piece of string nailed to the wall of the outside toilet. It was almost certainly in those days to have been the Daily Mirror and The Sunday Pictorial. Kids today don't know what it's like to rough it, (in more ways than one). :D
