nasty wallpaper

Recommended Posts

yes its me, the forum fruit!! if im in the wrong place, feel free to move me!

my beloved son, a typical teenager, has been in places he shouldnt be, lol, and has managed to save a very unsavoury pic as wallpaper! i want rid of it! ive changed the wallpaper to a boring one in control panel/display options. and my desktop is clear! but, BUT, everytime i put the pc off or on again, this naked woman's bits flash up for a couple of seconds. if im putting the pc on, this nastyness comes up for a few seconds then my boring desktop appears. any ideas how to get rid?? it isnt on the list of wallpapers, on the display options cos i thought i could just delete it. its not been saved to his 'my pics' or mine for that matter! i just cant get rid of this bint. please help me, or just shoot me! im on windows m.e. thankyou

Poppy, I'm pretty sure it is because the picture used is still where IE saves it. Browse to "C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer" and I'm fairly sure you will then find the offending picture titled "internet explorer wallpaper.bmp". Check that it is the picture and then delete it.

If you want to stop it from happening again, once you have deleted it, make a new FOLDER (in the above location) and give it the same name including the .bmp

So now you have a folder named "internet explorer wallpaper.bmp", if you now try to save an image as a wallpaper, it will say you are forbidden.

OR..........

Just go into wallpaper settings, select 'none' then press apply. Then feel free to select your own wallpaper straight afterwards.

Hey presto!
