Kirbster Posted October 17, 2006 Report Share Posted October 17, 2006 I recently bought a 4gb memory stick and all was working fine until today!!!Now when I plug the stick in, the drive comes up (removable disk e:) but when I click on it it simply says "please insert a disk into drive e:" Is this a common error and is there something I can do about it? [this can f*** up your memory stick > i know because i had it with one {36 MB :P }]and is there any software included that you must instal to make it work properly? Kirbster Posted October 17, 2006 Author Report Share Posted October 17, 2006 I've tried it on at least 10 different computers and get the same thing each time. I have to admit that I don't always remove the hardware thingy, rather just pull it out! I use windows xp, could that have caused the problem? -pops- Posted October 18, 2006 Report Share Posted October 18, 2006 By coincidence, my granddaughters came to me yesterday with exactly this problem.They didn't follow the correct procedure when removing the device and it has finally succumbed to its maltreatment. They have plugged/unplugged lots of times and it has been OK but, if the stick is removed when it it reading, or more so, writing it can easily wreck the whole thing.
