Alan2273 Posted October 30, 2006 Report Share Posted October 30, 2006 Well he has installed Ubuntu 6.06 Dapper Drake and said he did not need any help (we will see).Give him his due he got onto the Ubontu forum and found out how to install the Nvidia drivers, got the dvd player working, got connected to the internet and set up the e-mail, and also installed the printer and the audio codecs.Still he has got to install his scanner and I dont think SANE supports it, so that will be fun. catgate Posted November 5, 2006 Report Share Posted November 5, 2006 Yes the scanner prog. SANE is not as good as most of the Linux software. I have eventually got mine (Epson Perfection 1250) to work on FC5, but it was nowhere near as straight forwards as most of the other stuff.
