AlanHo Posted December 12, 2006 Report Share Posted December 12, 2006 I am having problems reading the text in the forum - it seemed to be OK when I first saw the new skin - but now the text appears to be really small.I have tried adjusting the text size in the IE View menu but it makes no difference.I am wondering whether the text layout has recently been adjusted by Admin - or whether my computer has changed its appearance. AlanHo Posted December 12, 2006 Author Report Share Posted December 12, 2006 In my case it is all the pages - however - I have discovered that it appl;ies to other websites so I am fairly convinced something has changed with my IE program. Trying various text sizes has no effect whatsovever. I will try and do a fresh instal of IE7 to see if it corrects it - a Windows restore made no difference. AlanHo Posted December 12, 2006 Author Report Share Posted December 12, 2006 I just uninstalled IE7 - which was not straightforwards because it kept asking me to insert my NT disc in order to save various files and warned me that if I didn't Windows may not work later. However - knowing that I have Acronis to fall back on I told it to get lost and ploughed on with generous application of the ignore/cancel buttons.Upon reboot - ir reverted to IE6 which worked fine and web pages displayed OK. Now lulled into a comfort zone I reinstalled IE7. The installation went normally but I am back to small text again.I will now see if Acronis cures my woes - see you all in an hour or so. I was using IE6 but after started using FF 1.5 never looked back to IE.I have been using IE7 since the first Beta version and it has proved to be user friendly and reliable. This is the first time I have had problems with it - possibly due to a problem I had this morning uninstalling another programme which went haywire and locked the computer which refused to shut down normally. I had to use the computer reset button and IE7 was running at the time. I guess the hard reboot got IE7 tangled - but all is now well.The reason I don't use FF regularly is because I prefer the way text is displayed in IE. It is smoother and easier on the eye. babysun Posted December 12, 2006 Report Share Posted December 12, 2006 Oh! That's the interesting reason. I do agree with you about that. But have you tried using the latest version of FF 2.0. I am using it and in the tools>options>advance>browsing>smooth scrolling and using the options in windows - Display Properties>Appearance>effects>smooth edges of screen font>clear type gives me the same effect with FF.I liked the FF because of it's -- fast browsing, tab browsing, pop-up blocking, spell check abilities.
