Which Router?

My parents have recently treated themselves to a nice shiny new computer... they have now decided that it might be a good idea to have a look at this internet thing and see what all the fuss is about.............fantastic!!!!

Trouble is, my dad has decided that he wants to go wireless as there isn't a phone socket in the room where the computer is, they are going to sign up with Tiscalli... and they will need a wireless router and a dongle thingy for the PC.

I've got cable and don't have any experience really with an ADSL setup.

So... which modem and dongle thingy would you recommend... it really has to be idiot proof. I'm not saying that my parents are idiots, far from it, but they aren't very technical and I will no doubt have to help them set it up over the phone. So an online manual would be useful too. They live in County Durham by the way, which is a bit too far for me to nip round and help them out.

I'm with BT - always have been. I'm now running their home hub system which was dead easy to set up even with the hub (router and modem) quite a way from the computer(s).

Not as long range as Netgear routers I've had but certainly easier to get going.

There have been some good offers on the BT system, especially for new users.

We have a wireless router, which works extremely well. Don't know about the cost because our son both provided and set it up for us.

It's a DrayTek Vigor 2600. It provides an exceptionlly strong signal for Mike's laptop. :)
