I'm so relieved to have found a Windows forum. This is strange in the sense that I use a Mac. Before gasping, please read on. I was a PC user up until about 1 year ago, I had been looking at Apples for quite a while, and finally bought an iBook G4. Now, one year later, I look back at that day as one of the worst mistakes I ever made. I thought I'd like the Mac OS, but in every ounce of honesty in my body, I cannot find one thing I like about it today. I had to reload the OS a few days ago, it has gotten VERY slow, and the OS seems to make things as difficult as humanly possible. After this computer is dead, I will NEVER buy another Apple. I never realized how much the PC could do until I realized what a Mac CANNOT do. The Macintosh computer is essentially a toy, no real work can be done unless you consider listening to iTunes or making a cheezy home movie "work." The Mac comes lacking any sort of office software, that must be purchased separately for a very pretty penny. The PC can either be a working machine, or a gaming machine, but the Mac cannot do work because the OS is too distracting. There is forever an icon jumping in the dock, you accidentally hit the Dashboard or Expose key and end up losing what you're trying to do. I love the fact that it takes two commands to quit an application, you can either click the red button and push Cmd+Q or just let it quit for you, another thing the Mac excels at. Things that amaze me are the fact that if you accidentally slip a command in wrong, you can lose absolutely everything, and the fact that you can actually DELETE the applications folder. Something you sort of NEED to run the computer. :blink:

So when you hear the phrase "Go to Mac, never go back," please don't believe it. Mac users are not as lucky as they have been brainwashed to tell themselves they are.

It's funny you mention this , I think those commercials are funny too...

It's funny to me because they call a mac "A Mac" , wich is funny because it is a PC..!! ( Personal Computer ) ..., And they call the other guy "PC" , Why do they just call him Windows..??

"HI , I'm a Mac" - - " and I am Windows "
or

"Hi , I am one kind of personal computer" - - "and I am another brand of computer"..

Because that is preaty much what they are saying...

And where they heck is the Linux guy...???

Welcome. There is a debate at the moment elsewhere on this Forum on what is needed to run Vista The Vista site will tell you which of the versions should be suitable, but Home Basic seems to me to be a waste of time. Have you tried the Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor?

:lol: In comes Arnold Schwarzenegger to stand above the other two, scaring them because hes more powerful, older and more reliable. The Vista PC guy looks like he ain't doing to hot whether he upgrades or not. Since macs are pretty as artist says they should have made Pamela Anderson the spokeswomen for that.

So you bought a Mac and it didn't work out for you, so what, why the crap anti-Mac post stirring up yet another flame war? Why are you so relieved to find a Windows forum; there are loads out there! And why would anyone gasp; because you used a Mac? Pathetic. :censored:

Take a look at Vista, (which I have run effortlessly on my Intel Mac Pro but now use XP), and you'll see lots of similarities so don't bother getting a PC with Vista as you'll probably hate that with every ounce of honesty in your body too! :angry:

The OS got slow because you didn't maintain it, simple. Just like any Windows system too, a bit of maintenance works wonders. Perhaps you should have bought yourself a book to aid you in your transition to Mac? PLENTY of people have bought a Mac and never regretted it this is your mis-informed and inexperienced opinion.

You don't appear to have a grasp of technology and very little knowledge regarding computers overall [judging by your comments, not a personal dig]. Pray tell, what exactly is it I CAN'T do on a Mac that you can do on a PC. Macs are not toys, they have a great build quality and do look good and work well if you know what you are doing! iTunes and iMovie are [among the other bundled software] very, very good at what they do. Again, you don't know how to use it properly so slag it off. Films have been entered at Cannes that have been made with iMovie so hardly cheezy is it? Okay, so it comes without office software, oh despair; again you can easily go and download a free Office suite solution that would cater for most PC users needs or pay around £50.00 for.

There are two ways to quit an app, either click a button or a two key combination... just like in Windows! What is the point you are making here?

Like all anti-Mac posts this is pathetic and just a waste of time. Are you looking for friends or something, you post straight into a rant like you want to side with Windows users and be liked or something... Sad :(

We are not brainwashed Mac users, we made a choice and stuck with it. If you are that bothered then sell me the uselss Mac that you bought and buy yourself a Windows PC, AND a book on how to use it!

I'm sure the other guys that frequent these forums are bigger than this and aren't interested in these Mac vs PC crap rants, if you want help with something then ask, go to a Mac or PC forum - there are plenty of people willing to help you!
