doug Posted March 11, 2007 Report Share Posted March 11, 2007 I'm with TalkTalk but don't think this is the problem which is accessing my bank, not bragging but I'm running 3 bank accounts. My normal bank is Barclays for normal current account operations. For savings I have been using ING but have now opened an account with Icesaver. The problem with all these sites is difficulty with logging in. This is particularly so with Icesaver. Occasionally I have problems with the other 2. I'm using Firefox 2 but get the same problems with IE7. I can access the main bank pages quite easily - while they are http:// sites, the problems seem to occur the moment they change to https:// sites. The login just stops, sometimes after a very long wait it seems to wake up and move to the next step but at other times I get frustrated and hit the re-fresh button and get a message that I have been logged out because of the prolonged activity. I've tried resetting both browsers following a help list on one of the bank sites. I'm really getting cheesed of with this. Any suggestions will be very welcome. Thos Posted March 11, 2007 Report Share Posted March 11, 2007 Our minds must run along the same lines because I used ING for a while, but it's rates became uncompetitive so I switched the money to Icesave, leaving a small amount in IND. Has this just started Doug?I have been having sillies with Carphone Whorehouse for a few days. My main problem has been the brides nightie email operation, but in among has been this silly "site not found" or sometimes just "connection timed out" on internet use. (Sometimes no home page i.e. no ISP connection) I think it is a continuation of their DNS "issue" that left many of us off for 13 days over Chrismas.On Friday I went on to Onetel site and found a notice saying that they were going to be fiddling with the email wires for a 24 hour period over the weekend. I have forgotten the precise times because the reasons I went on was to see if I could get at my emails through the Mailzone. However the scheduled time for tinkering had not then arrived and yet disarray was being fully displayed. I think it was a 24 hr period from 6am Sat to 6amSun, yet even to day it is all hitty missy. As I said, I can access Barclays and ING but very seldom can I get through the Icesaver log-in stage. I thought I would ask here before I e-mail their help desk. Telephone calls only bring the response from the non-technical staff only brings the reply to re-set the browser, which I've done a few times. I thought I wasn't doing it properly but as I can access the other secure sites made me wonder. However if you say you can get in then it must be me. I'm getting desperate to get this resolved! I was commenting purely on the vagaries of my recent experience of part of the Carphone pantomime.As far as getting any help from them you might as well try to bottle fog.
