Uprading to Vista

You should be able to do the things you want but, make sure you have a backup of your complete system as it is now before you try the upgrade. I have known two instances where the upgrading to Vista from XP has failed at the first attempt.

Users can upgrade to Windows Vista Ultimate from Windows XP Pro, Windows XP Home, Windows XP Media Center, or Windows XP Tablet PC.
