Sakura
Hi catgate :) If you want to test your Computers memory "Ram" you can do it with Microsoft > Windows Memory Diagnostic tests
catgate
Thanks for your responses, everyone. I should have said that I was on Linux. Irene'sCrucial's system is for Windows, and Mac. Memtest86.com does have a Linux prog., but that will not download for some peculiar reason, whilst Sakura's offering again is M$ only. I shall have to see if Memtest86 has found it's way into any of the Linux repositories.

Scarecrow Man
memtest86+ also has a bootable CD version, which I prefer since there is nothing else loaded in memory when you are testing.http://www.memtest.org/#downisoBased on the well-known original memtest86 written by Chris Brady, memtest86+ is a port by some members of the x86-secret team. Our goal is to provide an up-to-date and completly reliable version of this software tool aimed at memory failures detection. Memtest86+ is, like the original, released under the terms of the Gnu Public License (GPL). No restrictions for use, private or commercial exist other than the ones mentioned in the Gnu Public License (GPL). Texts about the original version was taken from the original website and written by Chris Brady.
