I wasn't old enough at that time to understand what she was up to when she went out with her painted legs. :DDid she do it all the time he was on board ship? Her legs must have ached by the time he got home.I can just see the picture. You uncle coming home on leave, kicking out the cat, and saying, 'What are we doing with 10cwt of sand in the kitchen Doris?'She did it quite often before she went out, when we were with my mother, who was baby sitting for her.'What are we doing with 10cwt of sand in the kitchen Doris?'Her name was May.Well who was it then that came in with a hatred of cats, and who complained about the sand? Cats are horrible creatures, crapping in OTHER peoples gardens is bad enough, it never occured to me about kids sand pits.
