Guest George
Belgium, Holland, Denmark, these three at least have a far more efficient processing policy than the UK. Noone 'escapes' into the community, and the vast majority are on a return ticket within six months. Friends of ours went on an away day to London from Newcastle Central, cost them £150 each, they sat with four families of asylum seekers, they were on a freebie. Apparently they are allowed this once a month to visit relatives. No further comment.

Agent Smith
There is also a tale locally. One refugee was given a car on the mobility scheme run by the government. He then sold the car to a man in a local pub for £400. The last I heard, the benefits office are still trying to get it back ... What the car or the £400.00 quid   Mr. M. ranger
Mr Moose,if it's anything like the way police deal with a robbery of a couple of hundred pounds from say, a local corner shop and the theft of a £15,000 car, it'll be the £400 they pursue
Guest Shirley_Crabtree
How many of the asylum seekers fleeing France to come here are really in fear of their lives in France?None! They don't get the same handouts as they do here so I'd know where I would go in the position.Enough is enough, we can't go on forever allowing this to go on. Many of the countries these people fled, because of war or unrest, are now quite safe and I can't see any reason why they can't be helped to return to their families and help build a better home country for themselves.I think Cookie is spot-on with his observations there....no "refugee" entering this country from France can possibly be entitled to claim to be a genuine asylum seeker....unless France really is that bad ;) People risk death to get to this country for the simple reason that if they can get here, they are quids in.I see Croats strutting there stuff in my local area with their new Adidas trainers and nice clothes. They get a council house and money for nothing....I bet they laugh themselves to sleep. This country is seen as a soft touch and if anyone dares to say so they are slapped down by the PC do-gooders.I live in a very multi-ethnic town and I welcome all my neighbours with open arms.......Jamaicans,pakistanis,chinese,them guys who wear turbans......but this new brethren are different...they're here to milk the system for all it's worth.I've seen the documentaries about rival Serbian/Croat pimps bringing young girls over here under false pretences and forcing them into prostitution....it sickens me  BTW a lady friend of mine was raped by a Serbian "refugee" and the authorities bent over backwards to defend the animal(with tax-payers money)I have no problem with genuine asylum seekers,I wish we could do more to help them....but I can't stand the thought of the people who come to our country for an easy ride and who end up with more rights (and money) than me.It's just not right!!!
