Watchful
I have heard that it is unlucky to have peacock feathers in the house :0 so wonder what a whole bird in the garden means? Surely you don't let superstion influence your life?. :D Definitely not! I walk under ladders B) I am, though, very wary of Magpies on the wing

catgate
A neighbour of my Aunt once had a daily help who could not fly. But then she was from a very long line of non fliers, apparently. Then again it could have been fry. No she was not oriental, she came from Basingstoke. It must have been a hell of a journey for her every day because my aunt lived in Meriden. She lived in a house called Ley Mere, and by a very strange quirk of fate, the house was in Leys Lane. Very odd.

It was a large house and there actually was a mere in their garden. The mere had an island in the middle where coot and duck nested. There was a boat to row out to the island. The "back garden" was full of rabbits. Very exotic Sable Rex. (Uncle Fred was a very big man in the fancy rabbit world.) Sadly the mere and the island have long since gone and the garden has been "improved" and "modernised" by compulsory purchase and has been filled with roadways and modern houses (well they were when they were built).
