Do you have any idea why you may have lost your themes?If you right click on the desktop and go to properties, do you have the XP Style option available on the Theme tab?If not, go to control panel > adminastrative tools > services and check to see if the Theme service is running. If there is no option for System Restore just above the start button, then Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/ System Restore. System Restore will not remove e mails and should not remove saved work. I did not mention that of course all updates will also be lost. These can of course be downloaded again, and lost programs can of course be reinstalled. When you do your restore, it is important that you pick a restore point BEFORE the time you experienced problems. It would also pay you if possible to invest in a USB plug in hard drive, and ACRONIS. Once you are satisfied that everything is running properly, you can then make a mirror image of your hard drive, which can be restored any time things get fouled up again.
