If I navigate to a cell, the easiest way to update is from the 'Formula Bar' near the top of Excel. In order to go there I have to click the mouse in the Formula Bar. After several hundred clicks my wrist usually gets very tired.The question: is there a keyboard shortcut that moves the cursor into the Formula Bar, rather than removing my hand from the keyboard, seeking the mouse, moving to the Formula Bar, and clicking in it?I know we have one Excel guru here - waiting for your advice, Irene P.S. it's Excel 2003, by the way. You've already found the answer though. :) Also, not sure if it's available in 2003, but in - Tools - Options - Calculation tab, you can select either Automatic calculations or Manual. Historically, when I have been updating year-to-date figures and budgets in large complex spreadsheets, I have found the manual option useful, because I didn't want remote referenced cells to calculate until I had completed the transfers. I could then press F9 to calculate when I was ready. You've already found the answer though. :)That's a funny thing - I missed this question too I use the keyboard a lot so I often use the F2 function key. It's handy for making general windows changes to stuff such as text. I press F2 instead of having to use the toolbar or right clicking to Rename something, such as a file name.
