Scarecrow Man
But anyways, I am a limited user, I think... how do I change this without using the admin's account? You cant.Or how do I find out the admin's password? If you do not know, or have lost your administrator password, we cannot tell you how to retrieve it. There may or may not be methods to do it. If there is, and they are posted in a forum such as this, a moderator will delete it.It got remimaged by some people at IT...I would suggest speaking with them regarding your problem

Staff
Do you by any chance have any Zonealarm product installed?I once found problematic to install things when an update failed for it.Anyway without Admin password there is little you can do.Perhaps the best you can do is to backup your personal data and reinstall, anyway your Windows is already screwed.Staff. Alan2273
Why do you need to use , cant you ask the administrator for the password.
Scarecrow Man
Program name removed in two posts above. Please do not post the programs name. This is the same as a link to the program itself with the ease of a google search. Thanks ! :)I still suggest speaking with the Administrator. Even if they do not want to provide you with a password, perhaps they will help you to install the software you require.

Staff
StaffIt got reimaged by some people at IT...But anyways, I am a limited user, I thinkPermitted use of the PC is not necessarily the same as ownership !Granted. However the title of the thread: "Help! My PC won't allow me to install ANYTHING!" implied ownership somehow. Besides it is always a good idea to work as a limited user as often as possible to minimize security risks (and use the Admin account only for activities which require such), and that could have been the case. How unfortunate it is not exactly that.Staff.
