Destrox Posted August 14, 2007 Report Share Posted August 14, 2007 Hey I found some nice icons and am trying to figure out if there is a way to change the icons on My Music, My Pictures, etc. Those are Read-Only and if I uncheck that box it counts as if I never did that. Also is there an easy way to change all of the folder icons in My Documents or do I have to go to each folder and change it and then change all the new folders? Coreper Posted August 14, 2007 Report Share Posted August 14, 2007 no, you cant change the icons of the premade My Documents folders, i dont know why windows blocked thisit is possible though, using Folder Icon Changer: it makes a dll file which does change the icon![btw: even when the programs says the icon cant be changed, it does changes the icon after pressing Apply!] Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Like a pair of headphones instead of the My Music. Or a camera and picture icon for My Pictures. That sort of thing. Thanks anyway. If there's no way to do it without downloading a new program then I might have to find some other way to do it. Also is there an easy way to change the default folder icon?Edit: Figured out how to change the system ones on the desktop so I will just stick with that. This can be modified with a resource editor such as XN. http://www.wilsonc.demon.co.uk/d10resourceeditor.htmThis is not recommended for the average user, and as always make a backup before modifying any files, let alone system files.
