andsome Posted August 29, 2007 Report Share Posted August 29, 2007 I have my computer set to notify me of updates, and I then decide myself whether or not I want any particular update. Two updates were notified this morning, one of which was KB933360. This is to allow the computer to correctly change the computer time in 2007 due to changes in time adjustment in various countries. I believe that I am correct in refusing this update, as surely our computers in the UK are already set up to do this at the right time, it is the US that have changed things, and now change their clocks at a different time to us. Those in the UK who have updates set to install automatically will surely find that when the US adjusts for the end of daylight saving, their computer clocks will be incorrect.I will stand correction if I am wrong. If you have never installed KB933360 before, then you won't need the corrected version. If you did install the original KB933360, then you may as well install the corrected version. AlanHo Posted August 29, 2007 Report Share Posted August 29, 2007 I don't think you have clocked this one correctly.The update will not reset the time on all computers - only those set to the affected time zone. So why do Microsoft call it an "essential Update"? Do they think no one outside the USA uses Windows? I live in Sri Lanka & last year wanted to buy some software from an American company.
