On some websites it just times out (e.g. eBay sign-in).I have tried deleting all cookies and browsing history etc., but all to no avail.A short while ago I decided to test the speed down/uplift. Currently, on another tab, I have a Speedtest.net test running (2nd try). The download was 2801kbps, but nothing at all in the uplift!! What on earth is happening? (I activated the Windows Firewall before I did that!).Tried the speed test again...It worked this time!! :D Download 2822kbps Upload 381kbps.Must be the Sygate Firewall being protective. Comodo always asks when new applications try to access the INTERNET, and you can choose to allow or disallow, and also tick to 'Remember this action'. Any changes in the program, such as updates etc, and Comodo asks again, pointing out that the program has changed. It's no real bother, and at least I feel safe. Sygate is an excellent Firewall but it was purchased by (I hate to use this word) NORTON a few years back to stop it becoming too popular, I guess. It has some very useful features like the Backtrace facility (see who's trying to get info from your computer!) and the very detailed logs. Because Norton brought it up it's not being developed any more, unfortunately, so none of the "bugettes" are being sorted. Also it can be tricky to use.When I used it on my Desktop I had a lot of trouble getting it to accept the Windows time checker, Sygate kept blocking it. Finally I found a forum that explained how to allow it, but that was quite a complex thing to do. Finally I changed to Comodo Free Edition because it's been tested to be 100% leakproof (Sygate is about 99%, I think) and is upgraded now and again.However, I installed Sygate on my Laptop and have no problems with getting windows.time! I had also noticed some other functions that were initially being blocked, then, when I uninstalled (not just disabled) and reinstalled, Voila! no more blocking. So you could try that (uninstal and re-install that is).It's a shame that Sygate is no longer being developed by Big Bad Norton, because if it was upgraded, I'd seriously think about reverting to using it.Search on "Sygate + forum*" or something like that, for more info.Let us all know how you get on.
