Rob Andrews plays a fine oboe and Julie Walters is excellent on the fiddle. I just think it's a shame that they change ends at half time, as Maria Callas always looks better against the light. It's a classic really..........We don't go to the theatre in London much - it's such a production from here! Then there's the parking ot the tube. I've become claustraphobic ........ I half expected something rather light and frothy, but this was not the case. Whereas Phantom and Les Mis both had excellent music, much of it was different variations on the main theme. Sound of Music had many many different tunes. The singer who played the Mother superior was in a class of her own, ( I don't know her name, I never buy programmes). She had an absolutely wonderful mezzo voice. Her rendering of 'Climb every mountain' had the audience on their feet. Her voice was just about the best of its type. The seven children were absolutely brilliant, as were the rest of the cast. The scenery was superb, and worked without a hitch, even the pit orchestra were a cut above the usual offering.
