doug Posted November 23, 2007 Report Share Posted November 23, 2007 The 2 Prawns Chapter 5These 2 Prawns had been great friends until Paul got bored with life and wished for something else. His Prawn Fairy Godmother granted him 3 wishes. His first wish was to be a Great White Shark. At first he thought life was great as he cruised the oceans in all his awesome majesty. After a while he became very lonely and wished to be something else. He decided that he wanted to be a Herring. His Prawn Fairy Godmother duly granted his wish. So off he went and joined up with a shoal of Herring and had a wonderful time. Made many friends, chatted and gossiped all day. He thought he now had the perfect life. One day, however, a Trawler swept past and gathered up all his new friends leaving him all on his own. He pondered on his predicament and decided that he had had enough adventuring and wished for his earlier life when Whoosh, there was this flash of watery blue lightening. Now this is very difficult under water! Lo and behold there was his Prawn Fairy Godmother again. Now read on:“Don’t forget Paul, you have only one wish left.” She said.“I know I’ve done all the things I had wished for. Being a Great White Shark was all very well being big and strong but that was a very lonely life. I had a great time being a Herring but that was very dangerous. I now realize that I should have been satisfied with being a Prawn that I hatched as. For my last wish I would like to go back to being a Prawn.” He said.“Very well, and good luck with your life. We hope you will be happy now.” She said as she waved her wand one last time.Whoosh and there was this flash of watery blue lightening again. I not sure if I told you, dear reader, that this is very difficult under water? Paul found that he had turned back to his original self. Of he went singing his heart out. Everything looked so wonderful to his newly awakened eyes. He wandered back to his original breading ground and who should he spot in the distance. You’ve guessed it’s his old friend Christian. He shouted out to him and swam over full of life and enthusiasm.“Hallo Paul. Your back! I thought you had gone off to be a Great White Shark? Yet here you are still a Prawn but you are different. So full of life, and obviously very happy. What happened?” Asked Christian. So Paul told him about all his adventures. How he had been a Great White Shark full of strength and vigour, but it had been such a lonely existence. So he then spent some time as a Herring. Now this had been a very lively existence full of chatter and gossip. But all his new friends had been swept up in a Trawler’s net. So he decided to go back to being a Prawn.“That’s all very interesting and you must tell me every detail.” His friend said. “But it doesn’t explain why you are so happy, full of life and ebullient.
