I was expecting a pair of ignition coils for my mortuary cycle. The were promised for yesterday between 9.30 am and 5.39 pm. By 6.00pm they had not arrived so I rang City Link and asked them what had gone wrong.

The fool driver could not find us. He had gone to a house in the village with the same house name, but on Main Street ,whilst we are two miles out of the village on a completely different road, well ******* Lane....and a different post code. I had waited in for nothing. The parcel arrived today just as though nothing had happened.

Management has gone to her fathers 70 miles away to take him out and then to take him, today, to a hospital appointment, to see a specialist about what treatment he was going to use for a rodent ulcer on her dad's head, I had a 'phone call an hour ago. They were left waiting for ages and if management had not gone and sorted them out they would have been there yet, because the old guy was not on the list of runners and riders. When they eventual got in to see the man there were no medical notes, the system had failed on that one too.

The specialist did have some notes that he had brought with him but these were the result of the biopsy done a month or more ago.

The specialist did not really know why the old guy was there,The old chap had been worrying for weeks about it,, ever since he got his appointment. He thought it was something more serious, and for a 93 year old that's not good. He will now have to wait another month, or whatever, for an appointment to be made for the treatment. And management has had to make a 200mile round trip for nothing.

Is there any more tea in that pot?

I would think that you needed something more than just tea!!

What is the world coming to? I feel very sorry indeed for your DW and her father.

What a dreadful thing to happen.

I have had a rodent ulcer on my back (it returned after several years). If it is any comfort at all, I can tell you that I had two different types of treatment. The first was frozen around the area in question, cauterised on the perimiters, then scraped. The second time, the consultant used a spray of liquid nitrogen, (I think that was what it was). It was a very fast form of treatment and the Rodent Ucler has never returned since. Neither of the procedures were too bad at all. This all happened quite some time ago, so they may have progressed even more.

I wonder ?

http://uk.reuters.com/article/newsOne/idUKL2114518220071212

Britain languished in 29th place in an EIU "quality of life" survey, coming bottom among the 15 countries of the pre-enlargement European Union.Australia, Spain and New Zealand ranked respectively 6th, 10th and 15th.

Says a lot for our wonderful Nu Labour cadre.

Reminds me of the time when management had re-arranged my arm and elbow using the car at high speed in revers demolishing the neighbour's garage at the same time. Anyway after the second op the remains of the op scar was weeping right on the elbow. Had an x-ray done on the Sunday and told I had a screw loose and making it's way back out to the big wide world. Was told to report at 07:00 am the next day - which I did having got to the hospital in Sunderland using one of those old fashioned bus thingy's. Checked into the surgery ward was signed in and told to wait in a side room 'till called for as I was on the morning butchery list. Come mid-day I was getting worried as well as peckish having starved and only had a sip of water first thing, So I made my way back to the main ward to be told that I had missed my turn on the operating list. No I hadn't I was in there where you had put me. Well you'll have to come back for 07:00 tomorrow and we'll try and fit you in! Oh no I wont I said, I'm here and here I stop! Well they put me up for the night and chopped me the following morning removing all the hardware and gubbins. So here I am. As it was my right elbow and are, try and imagine the problems of trying to undertake ablutions duties with your left hand behind your back by dead reckoning - didn't have SatNav!

It's the same with most things, poor service or none at all.

When I do get good service I feel like shouting from the rooftops because it's so refreshing.

If I get good service, I always make a point of saying so, as I am always ready to complain about bad service. Reminds me of an incident a few years ago. We had just had a superb meal in a Chinese restaurant. I was so impressed that I asked to see the manager. He arrive flanked by two heavies. I complimented him on the quality of the meal and the excellence of service. He then seemed to visibly relax. A week or two later there was an article in the local paper about the same restaurant. Someone had upset the manager, only to be chased up the road by him, brandishing a gun that he had retrieved from under the counter. Good thing for us we had been satisfied.
