Craig
For the time being, the 'upload' feature has been turned off for new topics and replies. This is to conserve bandwidth this month as we are running a bit low!Craig.
Boris
D'oh  I've just spent half an hour, changing browsers / rebooting / checking my options because I couldn't see how I'd lost the "attach" option - it had worked perfectly an hour ago ! Craig
As ellas as said, at the moment the best way would be to link to a pic on another site. You are still able to do that using the IMG button when posting. However you will needs some webspace first.Craig. Sir Radfordin
Can I however suggest we think carefully before we do it? If you attach the file it has to go somewhere. A pointless sound file is going to take up space on a server somewhere, its going to increase the bandwidth of the site and run the risk of making this site more expensive to maintainNothing like being proved right :D

peter e
I'd be very grateful if someone would outline what you are all talking about. What exactly has been turned off? Bandwidth - I think I know what it is but do web sites get a limited amount? As a forum member, what should I do to conserve bandwidth? As you can see I don't know much about how this site operates and I just want to do the right thing. By the way, how is the forum funded? Haven't seen any pop-ups. RegardsPeter

Sir Radfordin
peter e:The facility to upload a file to this site has been turned off. The reason being that each file takes up space. Everytime you view a page the information has to be downloaded. A page with 100 images on it is a lot bigger in bytes (size) than one with no images on it. The more people who view a page the more demand there is for the information to be sent down the line.Bandwidth on hosted sites is normally a cumulative thing, so each time information is sent down the line its added onto a running total. Don't know what bandwidth this site has, but say it was 50mb a month, and there was a page that was 1mb big. If 50 people looked at that page in a month you would have reached the total bandwidth.Bandwidth can also be used to talk about the amount of info that can be sent down the line at any one time. For example, at work we have 16mb coming into the building which is a lot, but a homeuser has far less.I think I'm right in what I've said, but someone may wish to correct me! its late, its sunday, I'm guessing
