reem Posted January 2, 2008 Report Share Posted January 2, 2008 Hi all..i need help!my windows doesnt start theres a blue error & i cant do anything so i turn it off then i took it to 1 who repairs i want him to do recovery or format but without lossing my files i need them i have my exames after a week and all my lectures is there :( anyway he told me that he will remove the hardware and put it in place i duno what so he can take all my files that i need and put them in memory flash or Cd its really work but unfortuntaly not all the files he can take them he said only the files that were in the desktops (maybe cuz i have a password) and i have some in my documents so im wondering if theres a way i can do to save my files in my documents??BTW ,i took it to another 1 who repairs and he told he cant do anything it has 300 viurses :s srry for i make it too long .. thnx.. Dencandy Posted January 2, 2008 Report Share Posted January 2, 2008 Sounds like this man is doing his best to help you. You are fortunate if he can save some files for you. Sounds like you've really trashed your disk. When (if?) you get it all running again and Windows is re-installed make sure you get effective anti-virus and anti-malware protection, plus do regular back-ups, at least of your important data. ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb Posted January 3, 2008 Report Share Posted January 3, 2008 To save your files, back them up to an external medium before you take the computer to someone else.After you get your system repaired - and antivirus & antispyware installed - scan your saved files with antivirus for infections before you restore them back to your system.Apart from antivirus & antispyware you will also need a firewall. Stay off the nasty sites.3. Purchase an external hard drive and back up your important files weekly (daily if needed) with a full system backup at least monthly.Hope all goes OK but I also hope you take my (our) advice. Seshomaru Samma Posted January 5, 2008 Report Share Posted January 5, 2008 Knoppix doesn't require Linux , it only requires a CD-ROM. It can save files from Windows . It can even write files to Windows, though it has difficulties writing to NTFS partitions. It is a good tool to have when your system doesn't boot. I understand that there is a Windows live CD called BartPE - (http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/) but I never tried it myself so I can't recommend it.
