The posting was by Eset, but it was taken from The Virus Bulletin website. I am a subscriber and saw this on the VB website myself. Eset are regularly one of the top AV programs. AlanHo Posted January 4, 2008 Report Share Posted January 4, 2008 I too subscribe to Virus Bulletin and an aware that NOD32 leads the parade year after year.For the past 3 years I have used AVG free anti virus - which has bad statistics over the period shown in the summary andsome posted.Closer look at the tests reveals that most of the failures were before 2004 - there have only been 3 failures since then - two because in each case it detected one false positive and in the third case the test was carried out a day or so before a virus it missed was corrected in the normal update. This is an example of needing to look beyond the raw figures.I am happy to stay with AVG because I have not yet ever been infected by malware - but would review this policy and move to NOD32 if disaster should ever befall me.
