I have seen once on a server that when it boots up on the desktop it has the configuration of the system: operating system, processor, ram, video card. How can this be done on a XP or Vista computer? Dencandy Posted March 3, 2008 Report Share Posted March 3, 2008 To get this information on the desktop immediately after startup I imagine this must be done using a special start up script or/and by using the System Configuration Utility. I know little about either and don't advise messing with them unless you know what you're doing.Or it could be done by getting a programmme like PCWizard to start immediately after booting (using Task Scheduler, for example). You then get it to display the results on the screen showing all your hardware. You could experiment with that a little without doing too much harm. It's only 360 KB.What about a little script, mark2, that would display the System (Generel) tab from the Start Up Folder immediately after booting?
